Exploring EcoGrief – Cork – November 23rd & December 9th

Exploring EcoGrief – Cobh – December 5th

EcoGrief is a sense of mourning felt in response to experienced or anticipated ecological loss.

Together in this workshop we will create a safe space from which we can delve further into the emotions and perceptions we hold around the climate and biodiversity crisis.

My name is Melanie O’Driscoll. I hold a BA in Zoology and I am a facilitator and environmental educator. Though my own experience of EcoGrief I have garnered a set of techniques and tools that I have found to help me move forward and action. In this workshop we can share these techniques and offer various helpful resources which may help as you continue your own journey.

Integrating, understanding and accepting the emotions we hold in response to the current crisis is the work of a lifetime, much more than what can be done in a 2.5hr workshop. The aim of this space is for us to come together to share, listen and learn from each other while also creating a deeper resilience within our community here in Cork.

This workshop incorporates meditation which is suitable for beginners and more advanced practitioners alike.

Spaces are limited to 10 people so please book your space in advance. Suitable for people aged 16+.

Tickets are €25 per person and this needs to be paid via the above ticket link before the workshop please. ♥

Refunds will be given where at least 24hrs cancellation notice is given. Tickets can be passed onto another person if you cannot attend.

If you’re having any problems with this process, would like a student/unwaged rate or have any other questions please call me on 089 215 6534.

Foraging Walks August 4th & 25th 2-4.30pm @ Marlogue Wood.

Led by local chef Klara and biologist Melanie this seasonal, foraging walk will take place in Marlogue wood. We will walk mindfully through the woodland discovering what edible foods exist along the way. We will share some tips and tricks on how to cook each plant and what it is good for.

The natural world contains within it many beautiful remedies, medicine and delicacies – and best of all they are FREE! Following the walk Klara will do a cooking demonstration for us so we can taste the foraged goodies while learning how to create a dish with them.

We endeavour to leave no trace while in the woodland and have minimal waste at this event so please bring a cup for tea and a napkin if you think of it. We will work with foraging guidelines such at the 1/3 rule and be sure to treat the land and wonders it holds with respect and care.

Children are welcome to come along FREE as we share our love of great food and nature with you. If you fancying bring some snacks to share while we eat at the end please do, though of course there is no obligation

Tickets €12.50 per adult for 2.5hr foraging adventure.

Call or email to book your place (limited to 20 people)

Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Grá agus sláinte,
